Regular Season Round 6: Kvarnby - BTG Academy 107-111

There was an upset when top-ranked SwedishKvarnby (3-6) was defeated by sixteenth ranked Italian BTG Academy (4-4) 111-107 on Friday. BTG Academy took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kvarnby won third quarter 33-20 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BTG Academy won last quarter 34-32 . They shot 62.3 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Kvarnby turnovers. The best player for the winners was French guard Axel Loll (197-2007) who scored 30 points and 5 rebounds. French center Anton Mendy (207-2006) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Arvid Liljeberg (-2006) who recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Edvin Svendsen (-2007) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five BTG Academy and four Kvarnby players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. BTG Academy have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixteenth position with 4-4 record, which they share with Vienna Utd. and IBA Bologna. Loser Kvarnby still keeps top place with six games lost.
